Search Engine Optimization

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is only one small part search engine marketing,  however we design our sites to be search engine friendly.  That is, at the time of design we take into account one or two of the most important search engine phrases to use for search engine optimization for that client, and we design the page or site to EVENTUALLY register well on the top search engines.  We also emphasize that we do not guarantee any specific search engine placement nor do we consider search engine placement to be particularly valuable for a real estate site.

Reputable search engine optimization services are VERY EXPENSIVE and in our experience seldom (that means almost never) add to a real estate site's bottom line.

That being said, if you reached this site with a search engine search--particularly Google--it was probably using a variation of one of the two specific search phrases that target Silk Shorts, Inc's services.  Those are "real estate site design" and "real estate website design". There are over a half million sites competing for these phrases.  Most are paying a great deal of money to achieve whatever search engine placement they have.

Generally, www.silkshorts.com appears for these phrases on the first page of a Google search.  Sometimes the second page.  While we don't obsess over this placement, we do keep an eye on it and tweak our site now and then if we think doing so will help.

For instance, this article, while it is informative in a useful way for our market, is also written with the search engines in mind.  There are a huge number of searches for "Search Engine Optimization" and most of the people investigating that are probably prospects for our design services.  By writing this article about search engine optimization we hope to increase our position with search engine placement and optimization (SEO) search phrases.

There are over 23 million sites using that phrase.  This article is written in January, 2007.  It may be several months before this has a chance of really affecting our position for the specific phrase "search engine optimization".

We use the same principles designing our own site as we do those of our clients.  That doesn't mean they look alike or even that they are constructed alike.  It simply means that we look at each site's purpose and use the best current practices to make them competitive for targeted search phrases.

We don't guarantee search engine optimization or placement and we don't charge separately for this design element, but we do include it in the initial design of our sites.
